Alfred University
Alfred University is located in Alfred, NY, a village in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains about 40 minutes west of Corning, 70 minutes south of Rochester and two hours from Buffalo. This town carries the distinct title of "the collegiest" town in America by the Washington Post.
Originally founded in 1836, as the first co-educational school to offer the same courses and degrees to men and women. It also went on to be one of the earliest to enroll Native American and African American students. It has prided itself on being at the forefront of opportunity, exploration, and independent thinking.
With a population of 1700 undergrads, 400 graduates, and satellite locations of learning, you can pursue multiple levels of degree certification. Alfred University sponsors 27 varsity sports, including Alpine Skiing, Rugby, and Equestrian. You will find diverse programs and offerings within the arts, engineering, and liberal arts. Students also have immediate access to state-of-the-art equipment, internships, study abroad, and numerous scholarship opportunities for those seeking an innovative, creative, and hands on approach to learning.
