Iowa State University, founded in 1858, is a public, land-grant university and a Tier One Research University. Iowa State is located in Ames, IA. We offer 10 Colleges, 100 majors and have a robust academic population of over 30,000 students. Our alumni association is made up of over 270,000 former students and they can be found in 150+ countries. Students obtain a great academic start in learning communities and are involved in 800-plus student organizations, undergrad research, internships and study abroad.
